Two plans compare Southwest Airport now with redevelopment next year. Eight gates served by a walkway become eighteen gates in a Y-shaped extension served by a sky train. Shops are added beyond departures security and passport control. In departures, check-in moves to the right, the café moves to the front left, and bag drop is added on the left. Arrivals gains a café, an ATM and a car-hire area in a new extension. The security, passport-control and customs areas remain in place.
