Overall assessment

The response covers all four transport modes and gives the details in a broadly clear order. However, the overview overgeneralises gradual growth, the pipeline starting value is too high, and the rail account needs clearer evidence of its fluctuations. Water’s reported gain would be more informative with endpoint figures, while several awkward expressions and clause structures reduce precision.

TA

Task Achievement

The response gives an overview and covers all four modes, but some detail is vague and pipeline starts too high at around 10 million tonnes. Water’s “about 20 million” describes a gain, not its total volume; reporting its endpoints would make that comparison clearer. Rail’s intervening falls are also insufficiently developed.

CC

Coherence and Cohesion

Ideas are arranged in a logical order from road to water to rail to pipeline, but cohesion is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, as when As a result is used for a comparison, and referencing like those transportations is repetitive.

6.0
LR

Lexical Resource

There is adequate vocabulary for trends and quantities, but expressions such as “unveiled positive trends”, “fluctuation trend” and “promising improvement” are awkward or evaluative. “Land transportation” does not distinguish road from rail, and “tones” misspells the weight unit.

6.0
GRA

Grammatical Range and Accuracy

The response attempts relative clauses and time references, but control is uneven. The road sentence lacks a clear verb linking its endpoints, “until in 1994” combines incompatible prepositions, and the final “which remained” has no clear antecedent for the quantity that stayed level.

7.0

What to work on next

Check the pipeline starting value, support water’s net increase with its start and end figures, and distinguish rail’s falls and recovery from its small overall change.
