Some of them believe that a safe alternative source of energy should be searched urgently to save our planet.

People use fossil fuel for various purposes such as using gas for cooking and in air conditioning, driving engines with petroleum and diesel in vehicles and factories. Without the ozone layer, more UV rays will fall on our planet making the world very hot and increasing the risk of skin cancer among the people.

To prevent , scientists and researchers are looking into other alternative sources of energy which are clean and safe. For example, Italy is famous for a widespread use of wind energy since several years ago. nuclear power which is very cheap and clean. But the amount of global use of clean energy is very much less compared to the use of fossil fuels. So, governments are mainly responsible for exploring more sources of clean energy and enforcing the people to use it by imposing regulations as well as by increasing of negative impacts of fossil fuels.

Overall assessment

Why this response received Band 6.5

The strongest aspect is the clear, relevant position supporting urgent development of alternative energy, supported by broadly logical paragraphs and relevant examples such as wind energy in Italy. The main limitation is recurring grammatical inaccuracy and occasional imprecise word choice, alongside some underdeveloped argumentation about why alternatives should be the top global priority.

How each score was decided

Task Response

6.5

The response addresses the question with a clear position that safe alternatives should be urgently developed, and main ideas are supported with examples, though the claim that this should be the most important global priority is not fully argued against competing priorities.

Coherence and Cohesion

6.5

Ideas are organised into clear paragraphs with logical progression, but cohesion is sometimes mechanical and links between sentences occasionally lack explicit connection.

Lexical Resource

6.0

There is an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary such as 'carbon dioxide emission' and 'alternative sources of energy', though word choice is sometimes imprecise, as in 'uncountable profits' and 'people are getting more noticed'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy

6.0

A mix of simple and complex structures is used, but frequent errors in agreement, articles, and verb forms, such as 'is urgently demanding' and 'searched urgently', reduce overall accuracy while meaning remains generally clear.
