Fossil fuels are something we get from nature. Coal, crude oil and natural gas are some of them. This helps to propel our cars, power our business and so on, but on the other hand, it causes harm by causing respiratory diseases and climate changes. Alternatives should be found . I firmly agree with this perception as human beings must take responsibility for their actions and have a vision of how the future would look. In the forthcoming paragraph, I will be presenting my views.

As they say “the environment is where we all meet, where we have a mutual interest, one of all we share. The use of fossil fuels causes environmental damage. The main problem arises when the gases are produced by burning the fuel. The burning of fossil fuels produces carbon dioxide gas, and the increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide is a serious injury to our mother earth. This increases radiation and contributes to global warming. Owning cars is indeed a symbol of an improved lifestyle. But we should become aware that we are emitting greenhouse gases into the firmament , which causes annihilation to our planet.

Fossil fuels are the ones that are non-renewable. This is one of the important consequences of using fossil fuels. A lot of surrogates are found, but all of them have little contradictions too. For example, if we use solar, it has its own limitation because it’s not available all the time. Another alternative is electricity, and it also has its So this is a field where still research is going on to find the best alternative for fossil fuels, because the fact that fossil fuels are non-renewable resources and can be depleted within a short period of time means that alternative energy is one of the foremost issues of our time.

Though some may argue that a road to nowhere, there is no denying the fact that there is a depletion of fossil fuels and that we should start searching for alternatives.

ultimate point regarding this fossil fuel is that it’s running out of supply with each day passing by. If the higher demands and lack of supply comes, our entire system will cut short operating efficiently and puts our lives at risk. The fact that we are running out of fossil fuels is a greater risks. Therefore find other possible courses of action which are greener for our life as well as the living world.

Overall assessment

Why this response received Band 6.0

The strongest aspect is the clear, consistently maintained position in favour of prioritising alternative energy, supported by relevant ideas on environmental harm and finite supply. The main limitation is imprecise word choice and a mechanical, occasionally confused development of ideas that keeps the response from fully convincing development.

IELTS criteria

How each score was decided

Task Response

6.0

The response addresses the question with a clear, consistent position and relevant main ideas about environmental damage and finite resources, though some points are developed unevenly and the framing of the prompt is slightly imprecise.

Coherence and Cohesion

6.0

Progression is broadly clear with paragraphing that mostly follows a logical structure, but cohesion is at times mechanical and some transitions and linkages are weakly managed.

Lexical Resource

6.0

The response shows an adequate range of vocabulary with some less common items, yet word choice is occasionally inaccurate or unnatural, such as 'alternatives should be found in generating fossil fuels' and 'it also has its own curb'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy

6.0

A mix of simple and complex structures is used with generally clear meaning, but frequent grammatical errors in agreement, article use, and phrasing, such as 'funds towards this research is' and 'if the higher demands and lack of supply comes', reduce accuracy.
