Now a day many people want to buy famous brands of clothes, cars and other items. What are the reasons for this? Do you think it is a positive and a negative development?
In recent years, shopping trends for apparel, four-wheelers and other produces have drastically changed from local brands to international. The main reason behind this transformation is the accessibility of such brands have immensely increased in every nook and corner of the world. Apart from that, such brands are investing a lot in promotions to promote their products. However, I do not see it as a positive development which is explained in the below composition.
To begin with, if we talk about the time before a decade or two, there were hardly any brands in most developing countries. Though some fashion brands were available, those were found mostly in the urban centres of the nations. Inhabitants of rural areas were not even thinking of possessing cars during that time. On the other hand, today, these popular brands have reached everywhere. Besides this, people also access them through various online shopping platforms, which were never available before a decade. Additionally, famous car brands now provide doorstep services to potential clients, which has helped them increase their sales and is also benefiting the people living in the outskirt areas. Moreover, popular branded stores for households also provide home delivery services these days. Famous and big brands do not hesitate these days to invest large amounts while doing promotions regardless of the product. They know the right path to rich to customer’s minds. A recent survey conducted by Yale University states that people are elated to access all they need from their mobile phones, and many of them are not even going to the local shops anymore. Thus, in my view, people have got multiple ways to explore and enjoy products from international brands due to increased accessibility. Advertising of these products is also playing a vital role.
Though I do not see it as a positive side of development for multiple reasons, firstly, due to the increased popularity of foreign brands, local business owners, especially in developing countries, face huge losses. Some of them had to close their businesses or had to lay off some of their staff members. In this way, these international brands are ruining the employment rates of such nations. In India, for instance, many local merchants had to close their grocery stores after Dmart- a popular produce store- is opened everywhere, from an urban centre to a village. It cannot be denied that investment in the country is increased with this kind of development, but people today have become mad behind these brands. Many people have developed a sense of jealousy by flaunting their shopping in front of their friends and distant relatives. This ill-feeling is taking the stress amongst society to the next level. Even infants more often fight with their parents- who belong to a humble background- to possess mobile phones from famous brands, such as apple, one plus, etc. Hence, I think this is not at all a positive development.
To conclude, famous conglomerates have found ways to reach customers by making their products accessible and promoting them on various platforms, which has changed shopping. But, the disadvantages of such kind of consumerism outweigh the advantages. That is why this is a negative development. Perhaps, authorities should take benchmark steps to promote local merchants who will eventually help the country’s economy.

Nowadays, purchasing items such as cars or clothes from famous brands is becoming increasingly popular among a large number of people. The reasons behind this trend will be outlined in the following essay and, in my opinion, it could bring both positive and negative consequences in equal measure.
To begin with, the tendency of using large brand products mostly stems from people’s beliefs on personal possessions reflecting wealth, social status, and appearance . More specifically, many people associate clothes and accessories from popular brand names such as Nike or Adidas with high quality and fashionable designs. Therefore, these items are more suitable for enhancing people’s appearance than the products from smaller brands. In addition, some types of goods like cars from luxurious brands are usually sold at exorbitant prices because of their expensive materials or unique features. Hence, these items are often considered as a tool for the rich to show off their social status or their wealth .
On the other hand, more people purchasing goods from famous brands can bring both merits and drawbacks to the business world. Countries where famous brands are based are more likely to have a strong and healthy economy. For instance, the US – the home country of many large brands, such as Apple and Microsoft, has been the strongest economic superpower since the late 20th century partly since the products of these enterprises are favorable not only in domestic but also in foreign markets. However, the rise of dominant brand names can be a factor leading to monopoly as large companies will attempt to dominate and finally wipe out smaller rivals to maintain their positions .
In conclusion, the tendency of consuming goods from famous brands largely comes from people’s perception of personal belongings showing their wealth, social status and appearance. This trend can bring both positive and harmful effects to the business market and, therefore, should be well-considered by the government to prevent large-scale monopoly .

In recent years, people have been more inclined towards buying products that are from famous brands. There are several reasons behind this, and I think this is a negative development. International household names, such as Coca-cola for beverages, BMW for cars and Apple for phones, have been globally recognized for their high quality.
When people buy branded merchandise, they also buy the guarantee that what they buy performs well, lasts long or has excellent customer services. People buy iPhones knowing that those phones are relatively stable, that they will probably last for 1-2 years and that they can have them fixed almost anywhere in the world.
The inclination towards famous brand names also stems from the desire for social acceptance. Everyone has a desire to fit in, and buying products that everybody knows is one way of showing that one is a part of a specific community. In my opinion, the dominance of famous brands is highly detrimental, as it obliterates healthy competition among companies.
Take smartphones as an example: in recent years, the smartphones market has fallen into the hands of the two greatest moguls Apple and Samsung, leaving smaller brands or startups completely unable to sell their products. As a result, such a monopoly hinders innovations, for future trends and technology have entirely been decided by only one or two large corporations.
Furthermore, several big companies such as Microsoft or Facebook have significantly driven the society in their own way, and by continuing to support those brands, we are giving them even more power and ultimately the powers those large corporations possess can be a serious threat to the government and the society as a whole.
In conclusion, some people tend to buy famous brands because of their high-quality products and the feeling of fitting in. My firm conviction is that this trend is negative to smaller companies and even to the society.

In contemporary society, a rising number of consumers do embrace the trend of buying well-known branded goods because of their quality and reputation. This move, in my opinion, can be detrimental for both customers and non-brand businesses, which would be discussed objectively during the course of the essay before drawing on a rational conclusion.
Obviously, there are a plethora of reasons to support this trend. The main benefit of supporting a well-known brand is the potential for the owner to gain unique recognition from the general public. To put it another way, some individuals believe that when they boast of certain opulent items, showing off their high quality of living in this way, their surroundings would be more appreciative of them. The presumptive highest quality of goods sold by brand companies is another factor to take into account. For instance, it has been demonstrated that German cars have the greatest safety ratings among rivals, which strongly influences people’s desire to buy these cars despite their high cost.
Despite the justifications mentioned above, the current tendency of giving well-known businesses priority could have detrimental effects on local economies and consumer spending. Assumingly, people would buy things made by small local businesses more regularly were it not for the presence of global brands. Thus, rather than fostering massive worldwide firms, it would encourage the growth of local businesses. Additionally, many brands frequently deceive customers by overcharging for their goods simply because they have their recognizable logos on them. Due to the fact that these businesses have invested money in marketing plans and commercials, their prices are disproportionately high when compared to those of smaller businesses offering comparable goods.
In conclusion, I consider that the propensity for buying products from well-known brands, which many people favour due to the idealised quality of the goods and superior status it confers, may have unfavourable long-term effects.

In today’s consumer-driven world, more people are choosing to buy famous brands of clothing, cars, and other luxury products. Social influence, perceived quality, and aggressive marketing strategies largely fueled this trend. While some argue that this shift encourages materialism, I believe it is a positive development, as it promotes better quality products, economic growth, and personal confidence.
One compelling reason behind the rising demand for branded products is their unparalleled quality and reliability. Established brands invest extensively in cutting-edge research, premium materials, and meticulous craftsmanship, ensuring that their products are superior in durability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. For instance, luxury car manufacturers such as Tesla and BMW incorporate state-of-the-art technology and rigorous safety standards, making their vehicles a long-term investment rather than a fleeting purchase. Similarly, high-end fashion brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton use exquisite fabrics and precision tailoring, which significantly outlast mass-produced, low-cost alternatives.
While there might be some drawbacks to this trend, the advantages are more noteworthy. Firstly, the popularity of renowned brands stimulates economic prosperity and fosters employment opportunities. When consumers exhibit brand loyalty, businesses witness substantial revenue growth, enabling them to expand operations and generate employment across multiple sectors, including manufacturing, marketing, and retail. For example, international brands, such as Apple and Nike, contribute significantly to global job creation and technological advancement. Secondly, this heightened competition drives continuous product innovation, ensuring that consumers benefit from groundbreaking advancements and enhanced user experiences. Lastly, owning premium products instills a sense of confidence and self-expression. Many individuals perceive branded items as a symbol of personal achievement and social mobility.
In conclusion, the increasing preference for branded goods is a positive phenomenon, as it ensures exceptional quality, drives economic growth, and enhances personal fulfillment. Instead of discouraging this trend, society should embrace it as a reflection of ambition, progress, and innovation.

In today’s modern era, people tend to purchase clothes, cars and other items from well-known brands. The chief reasons that could explain this phenomenon are the credibility of famous brands and people’s desire to show off their status. Personally, I opine that this is a largely negative development as it leads to the growing disparity between the wealthy and the poor.
There are two main factors that shed light on why people want to buy famous brands’ items. First, noted brands offer goods of better quality in comparison with small brands. It can be seen that innumerable counterfeit products are sold at cheaper prices, meaning that buyers can only use them for a short period of time. In contrast, those from popular brand names can be more expensive, but they are credible and give people a sense of satisfaction when using them. Second, people nowadays want to show off their social status or their wealth. A standout example for this is cars from luxurious brands such as Porsche and Mercedes. These are often exorbitant due to their materials and unique features. Hence, they are considered a tool for the rich.
From my perspective, it is apt to say that this trend has a negative impact on the development of society as this might cause various social problems related to the rich and the poor. As impoverished people are rarely provided with lucrative jobs, they might find it extremely challenging to make their ends meet, not to mention buying things from luxurious brands. On the contrary, the wealthy are eligible to not only accommodate their lives with fundamental necessities but also afford expensive goods that could bring them happiness. This discrepancy between rich people and the destitute could result in tension and conflicts within a society.
In conclusion, purchasing things from famous brands is becoming ubiquitous as they are of high quality and could show off the wealth of buyers. However, I argue that this may pose a serious threat to the safety and stability of society.
