Advances in nuclear processing us a low cost energy source, but at the same time nuclear power can be used against human being. There are several advantages of exploiting nuclear energy, for example, very low CO2 footprint, high energy capacity and compared to other energy sources. On the other hand, nuclear power has serious drawbacks, for instance, threats of nuclear war, disastrous power plant failures and lack of proper radioactive waste degradation technology. First of all, nuclear energy is one of the cleanest in terms of carbon dioxide production, and for decades it conventional fossil fuel energy which is directly responsible for nowadays. In addition, nuclear raw material contains far more Joules per kilogram of fuel than energy sources like hydrogen, shale gas or petroleum. Furthermore, previously mentioned aspects make nuclear energy as one of the cheapest options for nation’s due to the fact that raw materials are widely abundant and accessible. Secondly, in recent decade society is highly concerned about major drawbacks of nuclear power, especially growth of nuclear stocks , as they can be used for nuclear weapon production and could ignite nuclear war. Another disadvantage is of nuclear waste that comes from nuclear power plants. Due to the fact that it is very expensive and in some cases even impossible to degrade radioactive waste, most of the countries have decided just to collect and store it in underground warehouses. Although several scientific groups a sustainable disposal technology for decades, there has not been . In my opinion, probably the biggest threat is nuclear power plant failures that could lead to disastrous consequences To conclude, I disagree that the benefits of nuclear technology far outweigh the disadvantages. significant advances in nuclear processing technology are needed to safely exploit nuclear energy.
Benefits and Disadvantages of Nuclear Technology
The threat of nuclear weapons maintains world peace and nuclear power provides cheap and clean energy. The benefits of nuclear technology far outweigh the disadvantages. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Overall assessment
Why this response received Band 7.0
The strongest aspect is the balanced, clearly signposted argument that addresses both the benefits and drawbacks before reaching a direct position in the conclusion. The main limitation is recurring grammatical inaccuracy, particularly in tense and verb forms, alongside occasional awkward word choices that slightly reduce precision.
IELTS criteria
How each score was decided
Task Response
7.0The response directly answers the question with a clear disagree position, covers both benefits and drawbacks with relevant supporting detail, and extends main ideas sufficiently throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion
7.0Ideas are logically organised into clear paragraph roles with consistent use of cohesive devices, though some linking is somewhat mechanical and one example (nuclear stocks in the Middle East) is loosely integrated.
Lexical Resource
7.0There is a good range of topic-specific vocabulary such as 'radioactive waste', 'CO2 footprint' and 'energy capacity', with generally appropriate usage despite occasional awkward collocations like 'energy politics' and 'nuclear stocks'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
6.0A mix of structures is attempted, including complex sentences and subordinate clauses, but frequent grammatical errors in tense and verb form, while rarely impeding meaning, keep accuracy below consistently correct levels.
