Once children start school, teachers have more influence on their intellectual and social development than parents. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
School teachers are commonly believed to play a more influential role than parents in how intelligent children become and how they develop socially. This belief is, in actual fact, quite convincing.
Admittedly, there are some people who might believe that parental influence on children’s smartness is essential. This is understandable in that parents normally know their kids better than anyone else and easily facilitate various conditions for them to develop their intelligence.
However, it is unquestionably clear that school teachers play a pivotal role in children’s development in terms of intelligence and social interaction.
Firstly, without schooling, a kid could not become knowledgeable in the strictest sense of the term. Teachers in the school context would turn even the most retarded student in the world into a knowledgeable one, contributing significantly to the modern concept of the so-called “multiple intelligences.
Secondly, it is teachers that are able to provide children with a wide range of skills through repeated practice. Learning each and every new skill will help make the brain better developed, resulting in higher intelligence. Last but not least, a school is far better than a home when social encounters are considered.
Going to school, children have chances to interact with their teachers, their friends and others on a daily basis, thereby easily building up and expanding their social relationships.
A school is like a small society.In conclusion, for the reasons mentioned above – knowledge, skills, and social encounters, it is indisputable that parents cannot be compared with school teachers when it comes to the development of children’s smartness and social relationships.

It is often argued that educators have greater responsibility in developing students’ cognitive and social aspects compared to parents. I absolutely agree with this notion, as teachers are well-trained to teach formal lessons. Aside from that, school is the best place for children to socialize and make more friends.
It is known for a fact that parents play a vital role in the upbringing of their offsprings. Nevertheless, educating them at home alone does not always mean leading them to a bright future. For this reason, it is extremely important that children be given a formal education. This is when school teachers come into play. Apart from providing a conducive learning environment, most schools constantly update their faculty with various contemporary methods of teaching through seminars and trainings. This approach has long been practiced in order to ensure that students can cope with technological advancements. Furthermore, practical exercises and laboratory experiments significantly help increase their problem-solving, logical thinking, and reasoning abilities.
With regard to social aspect, it is also at school where youngsters learn to interact with peers. Apart from their daily classroom interactions, varied extracurricular activities are likewise offered to them, depending on their interests. These can be scouting, sporting events, and other organizations, just to name a few. These opportunities basically enhance leadership skills, camaraderie, and teamwork, that may not be acquired at home alone. It is, therefore, not surprising that majority of friendships emanate from schools.
By and large, I strongly believe that when it comes to honing the overall academic and social skills of the youth, mentors have a more crucial role than parents. It is because they are professionally trained in performing so.

I definitely agree with the statement that once children get admission to school, teachers have more impact on them than even their parents. In the following paragraphs, I intend to put forth my arguments in support of my view.
To begin with, children spend quality time with teachers. Although they spend more time with parents at home this time is not as productive as the small amount of time spent with teachers. We all know that parents are busy with their work most of the time and even if children are around, they hardly pay any attention to them. Teachers, on the other hand, are in school for the students. All the time they are either teaching the students or guiding them in extra-curricular activities . They keep children focussed on study and as a result have more intellectual impact on them.
What is more, teachers are role models for students. They are scholars in action. They not only influence intellectually but socially. Students inadvertently follow their teachers’ behavior too. They observe how the teacher walks, talks, and tackles difficult situations. At home, they have parents to guide them socially, but it is seen that in nuclear families, parents hardly find time for this. Whatever social skills children learn are from TV or other activities they do at home.
Teachers also guide students for their future careers. Students follow teachers more than parents because they feel that teachers are more aware of the world around them and they have a better capability of guiding them. So, they depend on teachers more than parents.
To put it in a nutshell, I pen down saying that, once the schooling starts, teachers and parents both have influence but teachers influence children more.

Both teachers and parents play a significant role in a child’s upbringing . In this essay, I will discuss why I disagree that teachers are a greater influence on the intelligence and social development of children than their parents.
The first few years of a child’s life are spent almost entirely in the company of their parental figures. These years are critical in the social development of a child, as they contain their first attempts to communicate with other people in order to receive the care and attention necessary for survival. Most school children start their education between the ages of four to seven years. Therefore, they have already experienced a considerable amount of parental influence before teachers are even introduced to them.
Other significant factors in the intelligence and social development of a child are the socioeconomic circumstances that they are brought up in. The quality of a child’s social life, schooling and health are all socioeconomic factors that heavily influence a child. These factors are a direct consequence of the circumstances brought about by the child’s parents. Better teachers will endow a child with greater intelligence and social skills , however, better teachers are, on average, found at better schools. The attendance of a child at a good school is usually the consequence of a decision made by their parents.
I believe that parents are a far greater influence on the intelligence and social development of children than teachers because, firstly, the early developmental years of a child’s life are almost entirely influenced by the company of their parents and, secondly, because the socioeconomic factors of a child’s life are usually a direct consequence of the factors which effect their parents.
