Some group of people thinks that film is just for entertainment while other people argue that it should have educational importance. I partially agree with this line of thought. Ideas enunciated further in my discourse will support my point of view.
To embark, people think that movies should be just for fun because they think it is just a leisure time where people spend with friends and family by watching a film together at home or in the theatre. It depends on the type of movie you are watching in the cinema hall. For instance, movies like Golmaal and Housefull are full of entertainment, so people interest in watching this category movies then it is just for the sake of fun. It also depends on the people’s visual skills how they take the whole picture in their mind.
On the other hand, some people say that film should have educational values in the owing of the fact that some of the movies are really motivating and inspirational to watch and for those movies people loved to see and spend money. For example, a movie like 3 idiots tells us about how the education system played sole importance in one’s life and how you manage your family and study altogether. There are a lot of films that tell us about learning, inspirational and motivational thoughts in a very simple and systematic way so all shall grasp the whole movie and can implement in life.
To conclude, movies have both educational and entertainment values; it depends on people’s interest and choice that how they take up the film in life.

It is argued that movies are for the entertainment of the people because these relieve people’s stress; while, others consider that films should have another purpose, and that is to educate people. In my perspective, movies should hilariously serve both purposes as people will not get bored and understand things well.
To commence with, movies are considered only for entertainment purposes because people have a tight schedule, and due to their routine, they get bored, and they want something that can bring a smile on their face and must not make them feel about the burden of their life. So they consider that movies must have only comical elements and should serve only this purpose. For example, masses are experiencing mental strain, and at the end of the day, when they have to listen to the preachings of someone or advice of others, they feel more depressed. So laughter in the movies removes their monotony and makes them feel cool and compose.
On the other hand, some advocates think movies must educate the viewers as they are more or less aware of the problems of their society due to the rigid nature of the work. It is assumed that majority of the folk watch films for their amusement. So if pictures are full of comedies and some educational purposes, then people will not get bored and, indirectly, they are familiar with the obstacles in their surroundings. For instance, people know that taking drugs or alcohol can have a detrimental effect on their health, but internally they are not influenced. Therefore, if the same thing is presented in the movies with a greater degree of emphasis on its outcomes, then people will realize well. So, I think it’s a good way to instruct people.
In conclusion, a few masses argue that movies are for relaxing them, while others think the film should educate them to make them known about the prevalent societal problems. In my perspective, these should serve both purposes, namely amusing the people and instructing them. It is best if they are instructed comically.

Some individuals argue that movies should exist primarily to entertain audiences. Whereas, another set of people think that movies should be only for educational purposes and none else. However, this essay will discuss both sides with relevant examples.
On one side, people tend to believe that films are a form of escapism and that they offer the viewers a chance to relax and forget their daily worries. From this perspective, movies serve a similar function to other leisure activities, just like sports or music. If films focus too much on education or moral lessons, they may become less interesting and fail to attract viewers. For example, Entertainment-focused films, like action blockbusters or comedy movies, often become successful and have a good reach among the people as they spark happiness, eagerness, and emotional release, which many people seek at the end of a hectic day.
On the other hand, many individuals and education counsellors believe that movies should also carry a good amount of educational value. This is because, movies have the power to reach thousands of people and raise awareness about trending issues. For example, historical movies can teach people about important events, while documentaries can highlight very much on scientific, environmental, or even social topics. In this way, the field of cinema can serve as a tool for learning that is both engaging and also impactful.
In my opinion, the most effective films can ideally combine entertainment with education. A purely entertaining movie may be enjoyable in that particular moment but it may not leave a lasting impression. Conversely, a film with only educational content can feel heavy and struggle to sustain the interest of the audience. Hence, when filmmakers blend compelling storytelling along with meaningful information, they not only impress the viewers but also it encourages them to reflect on what they have watched.
To conclude, while some people believe films should focus only on entertainment and others think that education should be present in the movies, I believe that both handled in a balance is the key to an impactful output.

Almost every household owns one or more televisions, and almost everybody loves to watch a certain television program or type of film. After a long day at work or school, many people simply want to come home and sit in front of the TV to relax and be entertained. They may not have the energy or enthusiasm to sit and learn about something. Furthermore, films and television programs are a part of the entertainment industry . The purpose of this industry is for entertainment, and it is a multibillion-dollar industry that creates jobs and generates a lot of money in many countries.
On the other hand, films and TV programs can have very strong effects on the minds of audiences and therefore people should be careful about how the contents of the films that they watch affect them and their families. For example, many people’s morals and values are shaped by what they watch on TV and in films. In addition, children can learn about right and wrong through the cartoons they watch, while adults can also learn many important lessons through watching films. For instance, watching a film about war may cause people to have a strong sense of patriotism for their country which could be seen as a positive educational effect.
In conclusion, while educational films, such as documentaries, can also be entertaining, and some films for entertainment can also have many educational aspects, I believe it is not necessary that all films need to be educational.

Movies have come a long way since the first illustrations and shorts in the early twentieth century. While some believe in the catapulting role a movie brings in stirring a change, others opine that a movie should recluse to just entertainment and nothing more. I opine with the prior, as I feel that movies possess the power to spread the voices of the unheard over mainstream channels, and this essay explains the same.
Ever since India witnessed its first full-length motion picture in the name of “Raja Harishchandra”, cinema has become both a love affair for the cinephiles and a testament to human emotions. Nothing can come close to encapsulating the grandiose of K. Asif’s “Mughal-e-Azam”, or the teary eyes toward the end of James Cameron’s “Titanic”. But, a cinematic experience has further evolved into inculcating educational values and spreading social messages. For instance, the Alia Bhatt – Shah Rukh Khan starrer “Dear Zindagi” gives us some important anecdotes on mental illnesses, especially depression, in a country where discussing psychological issues is still taboo. Apart from giving voice to topics that are neglected, movies possess the ability to give them a stage, relevance, everything culminating into an educating experience for the watcher. Further, they not only represent the age in which they are made but also encourage people to learn more about the historical events that are being shown on the screen, like in the period dramas and biographies.
On the other hand, an argument can be made against it. For instance, movies can be used to spread propaganda. World War II-era German films are often accused of this. Another argument suggests that movies can also go wrong in approaching a sensitive topic, thus drawing public ire. As a result, simply put, movies should focus on entertaining the masses. Moreover, movies don’t always explore the complete depth of a very important topic, portraying the skimmed portion of the top, thus risking the events wherein misinterpretation occurs.
Personally speaking, I am a proponent of freedom of speech. Hence I believe that unless they aren’t harming the sentiments of anyone, movies spreading educational values is indeed a positive thing that should be empowered and promoted.
Stop thinking for a while about everyday problems that trouble them.
