It is common to see that family members work together in their family business in many countries. Although working with family has some benefits, I still believe family businesses have more disadvantages than advantages.
Firstly, in a family association, the important positions are always held by family members. In this situation, the advice from other staff is hard to accept. Supervisors may make the wrong decisions. Secondly, the authorities of the company tend to pass to the family members even though they are not suitable for the position. It will make employees who do not belong to this family lose their motivation.
In addition, some family employees did not work as well as they could. Because of the relationship with family, they knew that they would not be resigned from the job. It will become a bad reference to every staff member and also cause some trouble for the employment management. For instance, my friend is working in his father's company. He believed his dad would let him take control of the business. So, he works with a negative attitude. His colleagues feel unfair and tend to follow his bad behaviours, like being late or no show without inform to supervisors.
In conclusion, working in a family business with family members can make people feel convenient and comfortable. But most of the time, it will let people lose their motivation , and it is hard for the company to receive suggestions. In this situation, I think there have for cons than pros.

In different nations, relatives work together in their family enterprise. I believe that when family members work in their family business, it increases job security and promotes growth. Although a drawback could result from incompetence, this can be resolved by ensuring necessary requirements are met for a position.
First, the chances of remaining employed are increased. In an organization owned by people of the same bloodline, it is very unlikely to terminate an appointment of a family member. This is because each siblings are share holders in the company and have equal rights to remain in the organization.
Furthermore, working alongside with people of familiar background promotes growth. It is convenient to learn from individuals one interacts with most time. Since one is a relative, getting recommendations for promotions and sponsorship can be much easier, thereby contributing to professional growth. For instance, a young lawyer whose family own a law firm may become a judge after few years of experience through the mentorship and support of professional colleagues in her home.
However, a set back in the family business could result from lack of competence. If individuals who are less qualified for the role are allowed to assume a position, the organization may no longer function as it should. As a result of this, the efforts of other employees may not be worthwhile. To prevent this, every member of family should follow the company's policy as regards employment to ensure efficiency. For example, a doctor should present the certificates and licenses from recognized professional bodies before occupying office.
In conclusion, I am of the opinion that working in ones family organization is beneficial because of the work security and career development options it provides. Even though, there could be disadvantages, if an inexperienced person is offered a position other than their qualification, it can be mitigated by following the necessary screening procedure for appointment.
