Dear Anaya,

I hope you are doing well. Can you believe it has already been ten years since we graduated from college? To mark this special milestone, I am planning a and . an evening gathering at the Lakeside Banquet Hall, where we could have dinner, music, and a short slideshow of our college memories.

I feel this would be a wonderful way to celebrate because in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. Many of us have moved to different cities, and catch up, , and relive some of the fun moments .

I would really appreciate our classmates and managing the guest list, as you still stay in touch with most of them. Please also let me know if you have any suggestions for the venue or programme.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Warm regards,

Trisha

Overall assessment

Why this response received Band 7.5

The letter fully achieves its communicative purpose, covering all three bullet points with an appropriately warm, friendly tone and well-chosen detail. The main limitation is a degree of formulaic language and safe vocabulary, with phrasing that is clear but rarely ambitious or precise beyond standard reunion-letter expressions.

8.0

All three bullet points are directly and fully addressed, with a suitable friendly register, clear purpose, and relevant developed detail such as the venue, dinner, music, and slideshow.

7.5

Ideas progress logically across well-organised paragraphs with a clear opening, purpose, justification, request for help, and closing, supported by mostly effective cohesive devices.

Lexical Resource

Vocabulary is natural and appropriately informal with good collocations like 'relaxed and enjoyable setting' and 'managing the guest list', though it relies on some predictable, safe phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy

7.5

Grammatical range is good, using varied complex structures and accurate modals and tenses, with only rare, minor slips that do not affect communication.
