In my opinion, theatres and cinemas are essential parts of our entertainment. There are two main reasons why it could be argued that we do not need theatres and cinemas in the digital age. Firstly, as the rapid development of modern media technology, it is more convenient to watch performance and films on internet. For example, many video websites have openned isolated categories related to film industry. People can easily select movies they want to watch without tickets and talk about them with other watchers all around the world. Secondly, governments can reduce or remove the construction of theatres and cinemas from their budgets, and increase the subsidy to more essential infrastructures like hospitals, schools and train stations. However, I would agree with those who believe that we should remain theatres and cinemas because of its substantial effects on social economy and culture. In most countries, theatres and cinemas play an important role in theatre and film industry. For instance, a successful commercial film could gain over hundred million dallors for selling tickets offline. It may ramain constant influence to society, increasing consumption of other product related to it. Another factor is that theatres and cinemas are important container to preserve our culture. Many theatres arrange large performance of triditional dramas in festvials, and cinemas also frequently hold film historical exhibitions. They both help to introduce cultural atomesphere of our city, which could be the symbol of a city and appeal to tourists who interested in film or dramatic culture. In conlusion, while there are some reasons to believe that theatres and cinemas are not essential anymore, my own views is that we still need theatres and cinemas because of its benefits for both economy and culture.Predicted band8.0It is now possible to watch films, concerts and plays on a phone or computer at any time. On the other hand, watching a performance at home cannot completely replace the experience of attending it. In a theatre, the actors and audience share the same space, so each performance feels more direct and sometimes different. Cinemas also provide large screens and sound systems that many homes do not have. More importantly, these venues support jobs for performers, technicians, restaurant workers and local businesses nearby. They can also introduce people to national stories, languages and artistic traditions. If such places disappeared, city life might become less lively and young artists would have fewer opportunities to develop their careers. In my opinion, online entertainment will continue to grow, mainly because it is cheap and easy to access. However, theatres and cinemas should not be seen as old-fashioned services. They offer social, cultural and economic benefits which cannot be fully provided by an individual watching a screen at home. This is generally cheaper than buying tickets, travelling to a venue and paying for refreshments. Online platforms are also especially attractive to people in rural areas, parents with small children and those with limited mobility. In addition, modern home screens and sound systems can provide a highly enjoyable experience without the distractions sometimes found in public venues. However, watching at home is not entirely equivalent to attending a performance. A live theatre production creates an immediate connection between actors and audience; each show can be slightly different, and spectators react together. Similarly, a cinema's large screen and sound make some films more powerful than they would be on a personal device. These institutions also introduce audiences to independent films, local performers and challenging work that may not be promoted by algorithms designed to maximise viewing time. Their economic contribution should not be ignored either. Cinemas and theatres employ performers, technicians, ushers and administrators, while nearby restaurants and shops often benefit from visitors before and after events. If such venues disappeared, city centres could become less lively and creative careers would be harder to sustain. In my view, digital services will reduce the dominance of cinemas and theatres, but they should complement rather than replace them. Public venues need to adapt through comfortable facilities, varied programming and reasonable prices, yet their cultural and social advantages ensure that they will continue to be important.
